Moses and Kitch stand around on the corner – talking shit, passing the time, and hoping that maybe today will be different. As they dream of their promised land, a stranger wanders into their space with his own agenda and derails their plans. Emotional and lyrical, Pass Over crafts everyday profanities into poetic and humorous riffs, exposing the unquestionable human spirit of young men stuck in a cycle they’re desperately trying to escape.

Nate Correll played Mister/Ossifer in this audio play rendition of Pass Over by Antoinette Nwandu.

Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is a play written in 1891 by Frank Wedekind, a German playwright. The work depicts schoolchildren in a German provincial town in the 1890s whose struggle to reconcile their budding sexual feelings and the moral code of their society leads them to tragedy.

Nate Correll portrayed Hansy/Mrs. Gabor in Basement’s production of Spring Awakening. He was both fight and intimacy captain for the project.

“SMTD junior Nate Correll as Hansy/Mrs. Gabor also stood out because of the contrast in his portrayals of the overbearing, ultimately sympathetic Mrs. Gabor and the closeted gay schoolboy, Hansy. He was able to reach the audience because of the variation both between and within each of his performances, and he was exceptionally precise in his emotional delivery of each of his monologues.”
